How to create a Google Maps API key and set it

 A unique Google Maps API key is necessary for Google Maps. You cannot display Google Maps on your website without this key.   • Create a fresh API key.

  1. Visit Google Maps Platform
  2. In the center of the screen, click the Get Started button.
  3. In the top left corner, select the Google Cloud Platform home button.
  4. To make sure your billing information is current, click on Billing. Your Google Maps will not function properly if they are not.
